Kingi farmed a property along Kaiwaitau Road, Mahia. In later years he lived in Waghorne Street Napier and was a carpenter for the education board.
He was a generous person having cut out a number of sections from his farm for family members to build on.
I along with Mike Bailey surveyed those properties in 1984 and I've owned one since 1984. Originally it had been gifted to Sophie Hura. (Information courtesy of Bill Carswell 2/3/16)
