Kia Ora my name is Shirley-Ann Hall i am one of Papa Hoturangi's many grandchildren my mums name is Denise Tautau who is one of the daughters of Hoturangi...I would just like to share a couple of things about our Papa...He was a intelligent and wise man that knew alot about what life had to offer us he went through alot in his time on earth and i am so grateful and happy i knew him and heard what he had to say i use to enjoy his company and i will miss that he was a very independant man even the day he died...it warms the cockles of my heart Papa 2 have known u...U will be 4eva missed from us all and u have left behind a great legacy that we will carry on 4eva love u always and 4eva Papa Until we meet again...

Tena Koe ko wai ahau? I am Terauhina James Haimona also known as {Boy} I am papa Hoturangi's gran-nephew, my grandmother Rahera {nee Tautau}. Haimona is papa Hoturangi's oldest sister, I remember my gran-uncle as a man who had alot of knowledge both in the maori world and european world he was a fluent speaker in te reo (maori language ) and English, he was a very interesting man to listen to and always encouraged us young ones to learn our reo (language) he said if we couldn't speak your language our blood was not worth bottling, he had alot to share with both young and old if you wanted to listen, so put that in your pipe and smoke it as he would say:
