Great Tucker For Us On Christmas Day..

Well prepared Christmas day dinner tables for the boys at  the Maori Training Depot at Maadi Camp in Egypt. For this fairly large number of recent Maori reinforcement arrivals who have been preparing themselves for action while the bulk of the battalion along with the rest of the sharp end of the 2NZEF force were enduring a rather cooler Christmas in Southern Italy in the Orsogna region during this 25th day of December 1943.

Although offically no record appears to have been recorded of who photographed this fine shot, one official NZ Army photographer was taking photos this day at Maadi Camp, his name is George Robert Bull whom i believe is responsible for this gem of an image.
