Cover Of Fire Programme From The Maori Battalion..

Interesting hand drawn cover of fire programme produced by a talented unknown Maori soldier/artist during the fighting in the Faenza zone in Northern Italy. It suggests an unknown humour between the two Battalions and may have been created for entertainment value.

The programme suggests companies of the Maori Battalion were to be in forward action along side the NZ Division's 23 Battalion who were to provide covering fire while the Maori Battalion pursued the objective. The date for this action was the 7th of May (almost at the Italian wars end).
