I never got to meet my uncle George as I was born in 1942 and he was killed at the base of Monte Casino in Italy. However my wife Jocelyn, Adrian & Margaret Maloney & Ian & Dorothy Rennie found his grave when we travelled overland from Singapore to London in 1970. My step father Hoani Heremaia was his natural brother. George would have known my natural father Ephraim Jack Prime who was also in the 28th Maori Battalion.
