A selected group formed a company from each of the 2 NZ Division battalions and marched through Cairo to celebrate what was known as the All Nations Day. The 28th Maori Battalion representitives with Captain Awatere leading are about to right turn on the 14th of June 1943 with all in good spirit and most to have leave or due furlough very soon indeed.
