Kia Ora 'parearauk'  I've registered as a new member tonight due to thoughts of so many of our loved ones no longer with us.  I can only tell you as a little girl my Tipuna talked of her 2 brave brothers Watene Wananga and that it's been marvellous to find this site and actually put the faces to the names.  She was Hikitia Te Rangi HAIG-BEACH.  As I learn more I hope to post more information.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

I would like to find out wheather he died in action or made it back to nz if you find any information could you please let me no as my whole Whanau is wanting to know about his life You sincerely Druhan Stephens

KIa oraall of the information on your Koro's service can be obtained by writing to the NZ Defence Force archives and applying for a copy. From memory they allow you one set of service records each year for free and then after that you pay for them.the link below is how you get to them https://www.nzdf.mil.nz/nzdf/medal-and-service-records/service-records/ got my grandfathers records a number of years ago; really useful to help answer a number of fanily myths about his service.Hope this helps
