Greetings Whaea Kath. I am the grandson of Te Kapaiwaho Insley. His eldest brother was Eruera or Erueti or Edward or Ted Insley....certainly known as Ted when he was in business with Mr Kusabs. It is possible they were closely related on the maternal side. I believe Rangimakehu is the eldest sister. Their father, my great grandfather was Edward Insley of Welsh/Anglo Saxon heritage and a five perfectioned swordfighter and ordnance expert attached to the Royal Artillery of Woolwich academy and based at Pitt town County Cork. He financed a part of the british army assault in the northern maori war and became the official handler of the Lietenant Colonel/General Wynyard and his battalion the famous 58 th. The main street of Mangawhai NZ is named in his honour. He is considered to be part of the crown hence the lack of private information available for journalists of the day to elaborate upon though he featured heavily in the daily newspapers of the time. Sincerely Mervyn Peka. (Insley)
