The Tokomaru Bay Sports war seal dates from late 1915. They were printed and sold to raise funds for the New Zealand Wounded Soldiers fund. This was done in conjunction with a sports day that was held on boxing day 1915. Ref. Poverty Bay herald 23rd February 1916
