Archie is my father and he is still with us today. Soon he will be 93 years old. He is our 'Great Chief', and an awesome father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a great great-grandfather. He was one of the 'Warriors' that fought inWWII with the 28th Maori Battalion and perhaps what is most important of all, he came back. What a 'Golden Trooper' he is and a well known icon to all his whanau (and there's lots of us) in New Zealand and Australia. It is amazing that we now have 5 generations and still growing strong, and for him to see it all. AMAZING!!! Love you heapz Dad!!

Kia Ora Koutou KatoaWe are deeply saddened by the passing of our 28th Maori Battalion,B Company, living war hero, my Dad, Archie McCaskill who passed away peacefully on Monday, 22 June 2015 at Hamilton aged 94 years. He was well cared for and kept warm and safe and has a very loving family who will miss him very much.We areso pleased he got to meet the 2 "Little Archies" - Archie Wehi, 20 months,(NZ) - 5th Generation, and Archie Willis, 18 months, (Australia) - 4th Generation, who are both named after him and, in time they will both learn more about their Tupuna and, where their names came from."We knew this time would comeWe didn't want you to goBut God saw you wanted restWe knowGod takes the best".Foreverin our thoughts - Gone but will never be forgotten.- Rest in Peace Dad
