Sam Goldsmith was my grandfather's (Charles Te Otutu Goldsmith) brother. He was a child of Edward James (Tete) Goldsmith and Huriwhenua Goldsmith (nee Matauru) of Rangitukia, East Coast.

The BESTEST grandfather EVA...died April 8 1989 aged 80 years. He was brought up by his Dad's brother who was also Samuel Goldsmith. Samuel was married to Ngawai who was from Whitianga...a place near Te Kaha on the East Coast of the North Island. The couple couldn't have children hence why Grandpa was given to them. My grandpa is now buried next to his whangai parents in Whitianga with my Nan...Arihia also known as Butty Wehipeihana.
