Roger Tahere Dansey

Roger Tahere better known to his whanau as Tahere was the only son of Major Roger Ingram Dansey 16/317 WW1. Major Dansey was the subject of the TV commentary Shovels and Guns that aired on Maori TV’s 2014 Anzac Day programming. 

Tahere had one son Michael who in turn had two daughters Georgina and Kushla.

Tahere is buried in the Dansey plot in the Rotorua Cemetery with his grandparents and cousins.

Unfortunately although he lived with my father for a few years toward the end of his life he never spoke to us of his war experience.
