Te Riwhi Rui (Richard) Te Haara served in World War 1 with the Pioneer Battalion, NOT the famed 28th Maori Battalion of WW2. Refer to his digitised WW1 Service Records available on Archway provided by Archives NZ. https://www.archway.archives.govt.nz/ViewFullItem.do?code=7824711&digit… I have written to administrators to have his name struck off the 28th's Electronic Battalion Roll.
