My memories of my koroua was of a gentleman his soft spoken voice who loved bowls. His dear wife Posie passed away some time ago the date I do not know and they are survived by their only child Charles known as Charlie to us all.

On November 8-10 the descendants of Rangi (Ngatirangi) Hinga's parents Paratene and Maata met at Te Puea Marae in Mangere Auckland. So many memories were shared. There was a sense of real pride about our whakapapa and knowing that Rangi Hinga, my grand uncle, will always be a significant part of New Zealand history. Rangi Hinga was born in 1914 and was one of 8 siblings. He is of Ngai Takoto descent. A book commemorating the whanau reunion is being developed. Further information about Rangi Hinga (1914-1985) can be found on our whakapapa website: www.hingawhanau.tribalpages.com.

During my childhood years I spent many happy holidays with Uncle Rangi and Aunty Posie precious memories I will always cherish. I haven't seen my cuz Charlie for many years probably close to 30 years, he's a hard fella to find.
