Our grandfather James I understand returned home and died shortly after his wife Mary Rangiahua; both passing at a very young age. His surviving children Te Mihi Kore Lee (Ratapu) and Rangi Te Are were raised by whanau. We did not know our grandfather and his memory is kept alive by the Maori Battalion website.
