This is a photo of Pte Pat Mackie. He, my Grandfather, and Puhi Mackie all hailed from Takahiwai - a beautiful settlement on the southern shores of Whangarei Harbour. The caption penned by my Grandfather reads - "Pte Pat Mackie with our 28th Batt Mascot."
