Private Kura Edwards, MM

Private Kura Edwards from Reporua, East Coast, who won the Military Medal for his courageous actions as a stretcher bearer at Point 209, Tebaga Gap, in March 1943. This photograph was taken at Maadi Camp in Egypt, around 10 June that year. Later wounded, Edwards was invalided back to New Zealand, where he died on 14 November 1944. He is buried at Kaonui Cemetery, Reporua.
