Laying the wreath, Forli

Aohuna Soutar and Nolan Raihania - the youngest and oldest members of the Ngarimu VC pilgrimage tour group lay the wreath at Forli War Cemetery, Italy.  A number of Nolan's comrades from C Company lie here, many having been killed in action in December 1944.

In May 2014 descendants of 28 Maori Battalion men visited places their ancestors fought, lived and in some cases died in Tunisia, Italy, Greece and Crete. The tour group held services and paid tribute in song and haka at all the cemeteries, battle sites and memorials visited.
