John and William Kelly

Kia Ora Phil...I vaguely remember Auntie Mavis. I am the youngest son of William Ned Kelly. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet alot of my whanau from Pakotai. From earliest memories, we lived in Kokopu; Maungatapere, where I first attended Kokopu Primary. We then moved into Whangarei and lived there until 1969 when we relocated to the Far North - Ahipara, Kaitaia. Spent most of my younger years here, as this was where my mother Marion Kelly nee Moses hails from, so got to grow up with my maternal whanau. I did however, spend time with Uncle Wally(Kelly) and his family when they lived in Tikipunga, and always made a point of stopping in to see Uncle Peter at the old homestead whenever I was passing through.Dad passed away in May 1977 and is buried in the urupa overlooking the old homestead. I am currently living in Australia and have been for the past 13 years. I like to get home as regularly as I possibly can, and always ensure a trip back to Pakotai is included to see my father and Uncle Johnny who now lies next to him.I also have a Facebook page - there aren't too many Heke Kelly's out there..... and there is also a Facebook page for the Kairau Whanau... Would love to hear from you also and develop a bit of dialogue.... Amazes me how we can be 1st cousins and yet don't even know we exist....Aroha Mai e hoa
