Jeremiah Hobson

Jeremiah William Hobson (third on the right) embarked with the 14th Reinforcements and served with the New Zealand (Maori) Pioneer Battalion.

Jeremiah (Jerry) was born in 1895.
He was a farmer working in Paparore, Waipapakauri (Kaitaia) when war broke out.
He joined the 15th North Auckland Regiment and embarked with the Maori Pioneer Batn as part of the 14th Rfts on 16 February 1917.
He served in Western Europe where he was wounded in February 1918.
He was returned to New Zealand and discharged 4th May 1919.
