Italian partisans at San Michelle a Torri where there is a memorial to New Zealand soldiers. The text is in Maori, English and Italian. The Ngarimu VC pilgrimage tour visited here in May 2014 on their way from Florence, Tarvarnelle and then onto Faenza and Forli.
The text in te reo Maori reads:
"He whakamaumahara tēnei ki ngā hōia o Aotearoa kua hinga i ngā pae maunga nei. Nā a rātou mahi ka whakawātea o mātou taone me tou mātou whenua I te ringa kaha o Hītara, kia hora mai anō te marino, I mau tonu tou mātou tino rangatiratanga.
