Christmas For Maori Reinforcments At Maadi 1943

An attentive Staff Sergeant J Johnson from the Bay of Islands pictured standing, who as quartermaster was responsible for arranging the Christmas dinners for the recently arrived 28 Maori Battalion Reinforcements at the Maori training depot at Maadi Camp. Sergeant Johnson is clearly being a good host in ensuring the guys are happy and have all they need to enjoy their Christmas dinner on this 25th day of December 1943.

Another superb photo from George Bull one of the official NZ Army photographers during that point in time.
