Wiwi Pirini was my mums dad.My mums name is Cretena, we were told that she was given this name due to the fact that my koro was held as a prisoner of war while in Crete Greece. It is said that he managed to to escape with other prisoners and also from help of locals. There was a a book written by a prisoner of war from Poland who escaped with my grandfather, the polish solider wrote a book about his time in the camp and about his escape. my koro was mentioned in it a few times as well as other new zealand soliders. Will get in contact with my uncle to see what the name of the book is called and will post it soon
