Originally enlisted as 'Morgan Manuwaa'. Corrected from whanau information.

If i look up my koro Morgan I would look under Waa, you have him down as Manu Waa as his last name. This is incorrect.  Please list him under Waa, Morgan Manu.

Kia ora te whanau My uncle Morgan served overseas and died during the campaign their. However, it is NOT him in the photograph, but his brother Royal Waa (my dad - in the uniform) next to his father (Te) Manu Waa (my grandfather in the suit). Sorry my niece, I have a photo of uncle Morgan and will upload it when I find it (just seen this photo here so sorry for the time thats passed).

There is a soldiers’ memorial on Tau Henare Marae, Pipiwai, Northland. It is a marble obelisk surmounted by a carving of an angel, and is inscribed with the names of the following local men who died on active service during the Second World War: Privates Mokena M. Waa, J. Hoterene, Mohi Hone, Haupai Whatarau, Te Reheu M. Pirihi, Moses Kaka, J. Davis and Rihari Tohu, Lance Corporal Hirini R. Heke, and Sergeant Waihora Paora Kira.
