Edward Harris

EDWARD HARRIS, son of WILLIAM CHAMBERS HARRIS (former Archdeacon of Akaroa) and ANNE MATILDA LOUISE SANDERS.  Married MARGARET CAMPBELL, at St Quentin’s Church, Duntroon, Nth Otago, on 18 June 1902 (usual residence for both given as Otekaieke).

7: Wounded 16 September 1916 in battle of Somme, died of wounds at casualty clearing station in the field, 18 September 1916. Buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension.  Received a posthumous Mention in Dispatches from Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, 4 Jan 1917.
