Kia ora Joanna, For information on your grandfather's war service you should request his personnel file from the NZ Defense Force Archives. It's hard to say how much information there will be in there. But there will be the definite basics (date he left, where he served, next of kin etc). From this document you'll be able to match up the dates of his embarkment and places where he was stationed with information on our website - Story of the 28th and the Diaries especially. Also the Official History by JF Codywill be helpful too. You'll be able to build a general story about his service that way. All the best with your research. Noho ora mai, Leanne (Site Admin)
