My Sister has already covered the story about how our Uncle took our Dad's callup papers and enlisted under his name, hence our Dad having to use a different name to enroll under. No background checks in those days. One could say our Dad and Uncle were some of the lucky ones who survived to come home and start a whole new generation of Parkinson tamariki. For this we are truly thankful and for those who paid the ulitimate sacrifice and didn't make it home again our heartfelt thanks and prayers go out to you and your whanau. May you all rest in peace. Lest We Forget. Our Dad lived a good life and is laying beside our Mother and whanau in Wahamiti Urupa, Otiria, Bay Of Islands. Na JR Parkinson
