Oh My goodness, this is a picture of my uncle Jack, He was my nannies brother, wow i can't believe how much he looked like my nanny, He used to live a five minute walk from our house our in poroti. He was married to Auntie Lil, they had two children togethor, Lillian and Michael. I have such beautiful fond memories of them both.

Tena koe LillianI came across this post while looking for my Uncle. It is very interesting indeed to come across your Dad. Does he by chance have whanau in the Waikato? I am of the Manihera, Te Uira, Tuteao whanau from Taharoa Waikato. Ngakete is also a Waikato-Taharoa name. Could it be that we are whanaunga? I would love to catch up.Naku iti nei, hurihia

Heya - I would LOVE to hear from you, my great aunt tells me of an Uncle Jack Maunsell from our home around Poroti. I am really struggling with out Maunsell connnection & would love to chat - you could email me on [email protected] :-) Cheers Andy

I am the only daughter of Lillian and Jack Maunsell. My brother is Michael Maunsell who is now residing in Australia. There were two other boys Allan and Geddes. Sadly those two have both since passed away. My father's sister was Hilda Shelford who was married to George Shelford, and they lived next door to us on the farm in Poroti. I remember my Uncle Cazz used to live with us, he was my mother's brother. I also remember there was an Aunty Mama we used to call her who also lived in Poroti. My father is buried at the Manu RSA cemetery up there in Whangarei.
