Richard Awatea Thompson

I grew up at my grandparents place right next door to Dick Tui Thompson in Salisbury Rd,Rotorua.Wonderful family and great memories.Dick was a gruff old fulla,but tough and hardworking.Always came home for lunch in his loader and would pick us up in the bucket at the end of the drive.Always took his family back to Tolaga Bay whenever he could.

Uncle Dicky was my Mum Dorinna's brother and he was such a fun Uncle when we were growing up. We used to listen when the grown ups were having a party and they could all sing I guess that's why we're all such great social animals - it's in the blood. E Mihi Mahana Wanda Kiel-Rapana
