Pahau Raponi

Takupu (2)

Then there was poor old Rapone(sic), who had had the top of his skull blown off and which he covered with a cloth. He gradually lost the power of speech, faded and died without one complaint. From the book Deeds and Damsels of Destiny pp207-208. Written by Reginald Bruce Olausen... who was in Stalag 8b at the same time as Pahau Raponi. I spoke with Reg some years back and he told me about Pahau, and what a lovely quiet uncomplaining person he was.
