Howdy I just came across an item from the Rotorua Review; page 3 for 5 October 2011 about researcher Kerry Bell trying to locate relatives so that 2 Memorial Crosses can be returned to his family. They were found during a cleanup of a rental property in Sunset Road about 15 years ago and then put in to storage. The journalist for the story was Simon Earle and I saw it on a media round up for Museums Aotearoa but cannot see the article online unless it is a paid for view. I cannot show the article on here due to copyright. Cheers Sarndra - Auckland, NZ. www.sarndra.com Blog: http://invokinglibitina.blogspot.com/ Twitter: Magna_Quies Flickr.com: sandyem

Thomas Rakau is a brother to my grandmother, Pirihita Rakau. On their mother's side, Raiha Ratema, they descend from Wharerangi Ratema of Ngāti Hinekura, Ngāti Pikiao. Pirihita Rakau was the wife of Tenga Rangitauira (Tenga Rangi, 4187), who also served with B Company.
