This a story about my koroua told to me by Jacko Parata. One time a senior british army officer and his driver got lost and ended up close to where the Battlion was camped. Wanting to find out what Battlion they were the officer order his driver to go and ask 1 of the soldier's. The driver approached the soldier and in his typical english accent he asked 'I say soldier, what is your name' to which he got the response 'Pera Tamehana'. Not understanding what he said, the driver then asked 'where are you from' meaning what Battlion, and was answered 'Pahaoa'. he duly returned to the officer and when the officer asked him what the soldier said he replied 'apparently sir he doesn't speak English!!'
