Māori Battalion's arrival in Scotland, 1940

On 16 June 1940 the Aquitania and six other big ships carrying the 28th Māori Battalion and several thousand other New Zealand and Australian troops - the Mauretania, Queen Mary, Empress of Britain, Empress of Canada, Empress of Japan and the Andes - arrived at the entrance to the River Clyde, Scotland.
