This National Film Unit Weekly Review film shows the men of the Māori Battalion being welcomed home at Aotea Quay, Wellington, after disembarking from the Dominion Monarch on 23 January 1946. B Company Sergeant Anania (Nan) Amohau, composer of the Battalion's marching song, is seen challenging the returning party, led by Lieutenant-Colonel James Hēnare. This is followed by a tangi for the dead, a tapu removal ceremony, speeches and kapa haka performances (clip 2 of 3).
