The following article appeared in the Star newspaper on May 22, 1915:Rapaki Maori PromotedChieftain J. 0. Tikao of Rapaki, has received word, stating that his son Jack, who enlisted in the Maori Contingent now at Malta, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant for excellent conduct and marked ability.Click here to view the article on the Paper's Past website.
