John Rangihau

Tuhoe leader John Rangihau served with the Māori Battalion embarking with the 14th Reinforcements.  He initially enlisted with the Royal New Zealand Air Force and served with Delta unit as a trainee crewman.  He transferred to the Army in September 1944 and served with B Company of the Māori Battalion.[1]

He is pictured here attending the Maori Summit Conference on 30 October 1984.
