Kia ora Rosey, my name is William Allen (age 72 this year). My Dad was Patrick (Patu) Arena his dad was Skinner Arena and mum was Heni Kina Arena. My mum was Ruth (Rutu) Allen (nee Tuhiwai) from Tangiteroria. On the 28th Dec 1946 my matua Patu Arena died by accidental drowning at Tangiteroria in the Northern Wairoa river (I was 3 months old) Patu and Rutu lived at Hollywood accross the river. At the the age of 4 (1950-1956) I was was brought up by my Uncle Eric Reid and Auntie Eileen at Waiotira, Eric worked at the Waiotira Railway Station. I noticed Koro Skinner worked at the Waikeikei Lime Works just south of Waiotira.I was never told about my tupuna's and I think you and I could be 1st cousins. My wife Ellen (nee Astle) live on bastion point, Orakei, we have 5 sons.
