Note from whanau: Name was wrongly entered upon enlistment. He wrote his name down as Tommy Taupe on his Attestation for service dated 15th March 1940. However when his surname was entered it was incorrectly spelt Taupi not Taupe.

Kia Ora All, This is my Great Grandfather. His daughter Linda Manaia is my Grandmother. I am proud of the service my koro did and the person he ultimately was. I never had the chance to meet my Great Grandfather however rest assured he will never be Forgotten. Long live the memory of The Brave men of the 28th Maori Battalion. Lest We Forget.

Yep you are able to use the picture, I have spoken with my nan and she feels its right to include him in your mahi. As for a picture of my Great Grandfather in uniform we haven't been able to find one as of yet, I am in contact with a whanaunga that may have one as there tupuna was his next of kin upon enlisting, should i come across it ill be sure to forward on.
